Terms & Conditions
We assume you agree to the condition below as you apply your child/ren to come to the Suzuki Residential Camp. Please read below before enrolling.
By purchasing the ticket of the Suzuki Residential Camp, you are agreeing to the below conditions.
All information published is correct at the time of publishing, and Suzuki Cello Institute Australia has right to change the contents which deems necessary.

Music Rules
1. You must bring your own music stand, pencil and rubber. We do not provide music stands.
2. The cellists must bring their own end-pin stopper or donut to protect the floors.
3. You will not change the child's class unless the teacher of the class or the Camp Music Director recommends otherwise.
4. If your child wants to perform a solo, you must consult the child's teacher to decide the piece. We endeavour to allocate every solo applicant in one of the concerts but if there are too many applicants, there will be a cut off number. It is your responsibility to fill in all the necessary information for the application to be considered.
5. If your solo piece is above Book 7, or if you play a piece outside of Suzuki repertoire, you must contact one of our piano accompanists to arrange a pre-camp rehearsal as it needs. It is your responsibility to pay to the accompanist outside the camp program the fee he/she charges. You can obtain the contact number from the Camp Admin.
6. Allocation of the solo items to afternoon or evening concert is decided by the Camp Music Director. We will do our best to allocate the young students in the day time concert.
Camp Rules
1. If you have dietary needs, it is your responsibility to fill out the online special diet form from the camp's venue360 website email address.
Though Galston is Allergy Aware, you need to check with them to decide if you bring your food or eat their food.
It is your responsibility to check if the food is correct at the time of receiving the each meal through Special Diet Coordinator (one of our volunteer parents) at each meal.
2. Four cabin rooms and a breakout space makes one cabin block. Each cabin room has three bunkbeds, four bunkbeds or a slight variation of it. Each room has its own toilet and shower room with your room mates to share.
Cabin rooms are all shared by the same gender, or family of minimum 4 can occupy a three bunkbeds room for six if the rooms are available.
If the family of three or less wants to occupy a three bunkbeds room for six, they can pay for an extra bed. To buy out the room, primary school Bed and Meal rate to be paid to make up four paid beds in the room.
3. You will need to bring your own beddings (top & bottom sheets, PILLOW, pillow case and doona/sleeping bag) and toiletries (towels, soap, shampoo & conditioner, hairdryer etc). They only provide bed frames and mattresses.
Linen hire is available by prior arrangement only.

4. You agree to abide by the venue rules. The site is run by a Christian organisation, and is alcohol, smoke and recreational drug free zone. Noise curfew is 10.30pm to 7am. You may bring snacks but are not allowed to bring in any food into the cabin rooms to consume. No nuts products to be brought to the venue with you. All food are to be consumed in the dining hall.
Legal and general rules
The person who is enrolling is legally responsible for the students enrolled under the applicant's name.
A person younger than 18 years old is not fully legally responsible therefore we need an adult accompanying the person. We call the person younger than 18 a 'child' in this document.
Your child/ren and his/her belonging/s is/are of your responsibility. This means you will not drop your child and leave, but you agree that a responsible adult is to stay with your child during the camp. The teachers are not expected nor able to take care of your child outside the classes, and also not able to take care of your child/ren's belongings.
Students are to remain onsite throughout the camp duration, unless the parent is accompanying them to be outside the venue.
You give consent for you, your child and the accompanying members' photographs/videos /audio recordings be made in accordance with the condition stated in the Media Consent section below.
If you do not wish to give consent, please communicate with us prior to the camp. We will inform the camp attendees to avoid taking photos or videos with you / your child in the frame.
We understand that the student has no physical or emotional condition or disability that has not been disclosed to Organiser which would make participation in the classes and concerts inappropriate, inadvisable or a risk for the student, the event teachers, the parents or other participants. If you need an assistance for the child, please communicate with us prior to the camp. We will endeavour to accommodate the needs of your child.
You understand that the nature of this event will mean that students are sometimes in one on one or small group contact with teachers for small group teaching. During the classes, it is possible that the physical contact can occur where correction or demonstration of musical instrument playing or related topic deems necessary, beneficial or unavoidable. In an advanced level classes, it is possible that the explanation or interpretation of the piece of music includes some adult themes. All Suzuki registered teachers are current with Working with Children Register.
You agree to release Suzuki Cello Institute Australia Pty Ltd and the teachers who are part of Suzuki Residential camp from any loss, liability, expense or damage arising out of or in connection with any accident, illness, injury or other consequence or event arising out of or in connection with the student’s participation in the event.
Media Consent
Throughout the event, photographs and/or video recordings and/or audio recordings may be made. The photograph and/or video and/or audio will be used for a range of purposes, but it is principally for use in materials produced by the teachers at the camp for promotional and educational purposes. This may include, but is not limited to, brochures, leaflets, posters, programmes, websites and other electronic media.
Photographs and/or video recordings and/or audio recordings may be stored in any of the camp teacher’s and its volunteer person's, colleagues', employees and/or contractors’ online storage such as but not limited to private YouTube channel, Google Photo, Flickr, Cloud and Drive.
The photographs and/or video recordings and/or audio recordings may also be used and shared for educational purposes principally within, but not limited to, the Suzuki community.
By enrolling for Suzuki Residential Camp, it is assumed that you acknowledge the intended uses (above) and giving your permission for the photographs and/or video recordings and/or audio recordings to be reproduced. You also agree not to seek payment from any studios or the teachers who worked or is present at Suzuki Residential Camp and release the Suzuki Residential Camp and its organiser, teachers and helpers who work at the camp from any and all liability associated with the use by the Suzuki Residential Camp., or a related party, of the photographs and/or video recordings and/or audio recordings as set out in this agreement.

Cancellation within 24 hours of enrolment - 100% refund
Cancellation within 48 hours of enrolment - 100% refund less handling fee $30 per person
Cancellation after 48 hours of enrolment - medical or unfortunate event as reason of cancellation

Recommendations:
The access to the camp site and its cabins are outside of our control, and unfortunately an unpleasant situation can occur. We strongly recommend that students and families do not bring money and valuables, or keep important things with them at all times.
While every appropriate precaution is taken, in an extremely rare occasion the student’s instrument may get damaged, lost or stolen. As such, we recommend that each instrument to be covered by an adequate insurance.
During the camp, please be kind to each other and be mindful about the children's safety and wellbeing.
Dr Suzuki said "The children's smile is reflective of the parents' smile" "Do not hurt anybody's heart” "If Love is Deep, Much is to be done" We ask you to follow these principles.
