🎵🎵 Purpose of the Revision Concert 🎵🎵
PURPOSE NUMBER ONE
In an ideal world, all Suzuki students should be able to play all the pieces leading up to their current piece, as revision is a strong backbone in the Suzuki ability building. However, we know that this doesn’t always happen!
For this Revision Concert at the camp, we ask you to choose at least two pieces to prepare (the more, the safer.
PURPOSE NUMBER TWO
Another important aspect of this concert is to improve what you already know. Dr. Suzuki said the lesson begins when you can play a piece well. Therefore, aim to play previously learned pieces with the current skill level and musicality you have developed.
Dr. Suzuki’s famous “Lucky Dip Concert” involved randomly drawing pieces from a box to perform on the spot, which was meant to be fun! At our camp, you can choose your pieces in advance instead of being asked to play any piece spontaneously.
The Lucky Dip Concert is, in essence, a revision concert. It is a chance for all of us to learn, laugh, applaud, support, and encourage each other.
Happy revising!
